The physical connection between the TX and RX units is via a single CAT cable. CAT5 or CAT6 Foiled Twisted Pair (FTP) cable is recommended for best results. Up to 4x CAT cables can fit into your existing home conduit. If your conduit already has an 'old' RF coaxial cable these can be used a 'pull wire' for the new CAT cable.
This unit supports IR Source Control: with 'IR (Infrared) Source Control' the remote control of any HDMI source such a DSTV decoder will work from the extended location through the extender system meaning the decoder can be controller as 'normal' from the boardroom or bedroom etc. The unit is supplied with both a IR-TX eye (mounted onto your HDMI source e.g. decoder) and IR-RX eye (mounted near or on your TV frame) at the extended location.
This unit supports IP (Internet Protocol): supports the option of 'One to Many' via the addition of a router and can be connected to an existing LAN network meaning 1x TX unit can support up to 253x RX units on the same LAN network. This feature is suitable for homes, factories and businesses where the same video signal is required to be displayed on multiple TV's / monitors.
CAT Cable HDMI Extenders are often use in conjunction with a Splitter, Switch-Splitter or a Matrix.
