Connect your new cellphone to any TV or Monitor hassle -free (see the additional images for a connection diagram)
The USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter lets you connect most modern devices with a USB-type-C port such Mac Book, Cellphone or Laptop to an HDMI display (TV, Monitor or Projector).
With the introduction of the USB-C or type-C connector, 3 connection types are possible:
Alt Mode is a term you will come across frequently when investigating USB-C.
Alt Mode is a functional extension of USB-C which enables the USB connection to carry non-USB signals. Alt Mode(s) are optional capabilities that are unique to the USB-C connector or port that allow technologies, like DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3, to be transmitted.
DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP Alt Mode) allows a USB-C equipped computer to connect directly to a display or monitor. The monitor will need to have a USB-C port for you to make this connection. You can still use a USB-C equipped laptop with monitors that have more traditional video ports, such as VGA, DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort but you will need to get this USB-C video adapter.
Please first confirm your device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP Alt Mode). If you’re unsure contact your system manufacturer or general internet search to confirm. You can also refer to our somewhat incomplete list below.
If you’ve tested and confirmed functionality (or lack thereof) of any USB-C Alt Mode device with this adaptor (USB-C or Thunderbolt 3) which is not listed below, please feel free to email us, so we can update it.
